Offshore Wind Energy
Baltic Industrial Group, established by ARP S.A. Baltic Industrial Group has the task of rebuilding the Polish shipbuilding industry, which is an element of OWE. The Baltic Industry Group comprises Energomontaż Północ-Gdynia and Baltic Operator (both companies operating in the offshore industry). In addition, the IDA JSC Capital Group also includes other companies with production capacities within MEW: Odlewnia Rafamet, Kuźnia Raciborska - experienced in the production of ductile iron castings - and the ENERGOP Company - involved in the prefabrication of complete pipelines and steel structures for the offshore sector.
Poland's favourable natural conditions (strong, stable wind, relatively shallow water depth in a large area of the exclusive economic zone) make it possible for the country to extensively develop offshore wind energy, due to the low costs of construction and operation of SHPP. Realistic capacity potential in the Polish exclusive economic zone is estimated at 28 GW.
We want Poland to become an important producer of wind towers on the international market. Entering foreign markets and cooperation with international concerns will allow not only to win new orders but also to acquire state-of-the-art technology that may be used in the future to strengthen the Polish industry.
Another way to strengthen competences in the offshore industry is to extend the offer with services based on cooperation with selected suppliers of key technologies or OWF elements. To this end, ARP S.A. has entered into agreements with two important contractors: General Electric and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy.
